The Gemological museum gives visitors the opportunity to see the raw gem stones being cut and polished and to learn and understand the gem industry better. Also on show are mining related models and exhibits, other precious minerals and rare elephant pearls taken from the Gaja Mutu Tusker.
Private museums tend to be primarily retail outlets for gems but at the same time demonstrate the craft of raw stones being cut and gem polishing.
